Dr. Monique Vanden Heuvel “Dr. V”

Dr. V obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at UW Madison, WI.  She then was commissioned as a Captain in the US Army in June 2005.  She and her husband were stationed in California where she served 3.5 years at Lemoore Naval Air Station as the Officer in Charge of the Veterinary Hospital on base.  While leading and training a troop of soldiers, her main focus was to ensure the health and deployability of the Military Working Dogs to Iraq and Afghanistan during war.  After serving 4 years, she was honorably discharged and joined the team at Care Veterinary Clinic in CA.  Dr. V specialized in soft tissue surgery, dental care, and ultrasound for over 7 years.  

Realizing the importance of family, they moved back to Wisconsin and jumped on board with Silver Spring Animal Wellness Center for 3.5 years.  It was a great outlet to learn and practice Integrative and Preventive Medicine.  After the birth of their twin girls, Dr. V decided it was time for change and found her home with the MVP family.  She  currently works at Waukesha Walk In Veterinary Clinic for the last year, and recently joined the team at Downtown Veterinary Clinic.  

Dr. V, her husband, and her 6 crazy but amazing kids, plus a feline friend (Samuel Grey) reside in Port Washington, and thoroughly enjoys the charm this town has to offer.  She loves and misses the warm weather (especially the beach!), enjoys traveling with family, going for a run, and listening to live music.  A glass of red wine will definitely top off the night!
